Enrique Arevalo is an immigration attorney who has been in practice for over thirty years. His firm has produced some of the most skilled practitioners in immigration law today, including a current Judge at the Immigration Court in Los Angeles, California and two Adjunct Law Professors at Loyola Law School. He is an immigrant himself who arrived in this country in 1968, at the age of 14. His interest in immigration law started when he still lived in Mexico and found out that his father, a United States Citizen, had been indirectly deported as a child during the “Repatriation Program” of the 1930’s. Years later and after graduating from California State University in Los Angeles and Western State University College of Law in Orange County, Enrique started his own law firm in 1984 in the Pico-Union district. After experiencing years of growth, in 1993 he moved his firm to South Pasadena, California.
His law firm has been the recipient of various published decisions by the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and the Board of Immigration Appeals. In 1999 he was awarded the Meritorious Award by the U.S. Department of Justice for his contribution in the formation of the Pro-Bono panel to assist immigrant families facing deportation before the Immigration Courts. In 2005 he received the “Cruz Reynoso” Community Service award, and in 2013 he received the “Lifetime Achievement Award” by the Mexican American Bar Association (MABA) of Los Angeles County.
Enrique Arevalo is an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), he volunteers with the Central American Resource Center (CARECEN) and served on the Board of Directors of the Charitable Foundation of White Memorial Hospital in East Los Angeles from 2004 to 2009, he is a designated legal consultant of the government of Mexico.
Enrique Arevalo comes from a working class background. His late father was a former meatpacking company worker and his late mother was a restaurant cook in Boyle Heights. He has nine siblings and all live in the Los Angeles area.
Enrique Arevalo has been a household name in immigration law for more than thirty years. He has participated in radio and television programs in the Southern California. He has been the legal analyst of immigration law issues for the live newscasts of KVEA, NBC Telemundo, Channel 52 Network and KWHY, Mundo-Fox Channel 22. He presently hosts a daily live radio program for KTNQ, 1020 AM radio of the Univision Network. The program’s name is “Usted y la Ley”.
Enrique is a single parent, has one daughter and two grandchildren and lives in South Pasadena, California.
