MCF’s Workforce Engagement Program is focused on expanding economic opportunity for underserved workers by engaging workers in strategic campaigns to organize their sectors and advance policies to improve conditions at their workplaces and industries.
This work is in development, with planned targets including:
- Cross-sector, including worker center, collaboration to develop policy solutions to improve the conditions of underserved workers.
- Expansion of internal resources for mobilization on advocacy campaigns to improve the conditions of underserved workers (i.e., organizer trainings, call center support, field campaign education) – including work on Census 2020 and Redistricting 2021
- Development of underserved worker civic leadership training and placement.
- R&D of innovative collaboration throughout California (potentially national) to advance advocacy campaigns to improve the conditions of underserved workers through the established national labor union and worker center networks.
